Tradwife, der Kurzform für «traditional wife» (traditionelle Ehefrau), zelebrieren Influencerinnen seit etwa 2018 ein konservatives Rollenbild: Die Frau ist zuständig für Haushalt und Kinder, der Mann schafft das Geld heran und hat in wichtigen Fragen das letzte Wort.
Das Feld dieser Influencerinnen ist weit. Manche haben nur Spass an einer glamourösen Inszenierung, andere meinen es mit der Hausfrauenrolle ernst. Allen Frauen ist jedoch eines gemein: Sie geben sich feminin, nicht feministisch, sie tragen Petticoats oder Blümchenkleider. Für viele ist der Feminismus der Grund für die Übel der Gegenwart, für Unverbindlichkeit, Konsumkultur und Männerhass.
Tradwives leben ihre eigene Art von Feminismus. Sie sagen: Wir haben das Leben als Hausfrau frei gewählt.
